Day 1 Lucerne
/ Luzern Arrive swiss airport or border. Buy a Swiss Card on line
or at the airport train station.
Travel to Lucerne by train. Seat reservation is not necessary. (sbb

Arrive Lucerne and transfer to your hotel on your own (Taxi, walking or public
bus). Day
2 Lucerne / Luzern This morning you will visit Mount Pilatus.
Take bus No 1 to Kriens station Linde. From there you walk up hill, pass
a little church, keep up hill and after ten minutes you reach the Pilatus Mountain
railway station. Buy a ticket at 50 % reduction (Swiss Card), or 25 % (Swiss
Pass). Travel by Cable Car up to Pilatus Kulm. Enjoy a wonderful panorama of Central
Switzerland. You may want to go for a walk on the marked routes. Take your way
down to Alpnach with the steepest mountain railway of the world! From Alpnach
to Lucerne you travel by boat on Lake Lucerne. Find the schedule on this

Afterwards you may consider visiting the Rosengart
Collection or the Swiss
Traffic Museum or have a tour of Lucerne on your own. Day
3 Locarno Travel
from Lucerne to Locarno with the William Tell Express. A three and half hour paddle
steamer journey across Lake Lucerne to Flüelen followed by train ride from
Flüelen to Lugano or Locarno on the world famous Gotthard Line. The surcharge
on the normal transportation ticket is CHF 47.- and includes Lunch. Find Reservation

In Bellinzona you change train and continue to Locarno.

Arrive Locarno and check in at your hotel (switzerlandhotels.ch)
Enjoy the mediterranean climate of Southern Switzerland and take a walk through
the city and the lake side promenade. Day
4 Locarno / Lago Maggiore Express Full day Lago Maggiore Express with
train and boat including Locarno, Centovalli, Domodossola, Stresa and Isola Bella.
Travel from Locarno to Domodossola through the breath taking Centovalli Valley.
You will pass the 80 meters high steel bridge in Intragna. In Re you will see
the the pilgrimage Church "Madonna del Sangue".
In Domodossola you change train and travel with the Italian Raiways to Stresa.
Arriving in Stresa keep right and a 20 minutes walk will take you to the harbour.
A five minutes boat ride takes you to the Isola Bella where you can enjoy Lunch
at one of the Italian Restaurants and have some time to relax. You may want to
visit the Gardens and the Castle of Isola Bella. The admission is approx. Euro
9.- and the visit takes about 1 hour. Then continue by boat or hydrofoil to Locarno.
